Training challenge

They asked me to teach the staff in electrics/electronics.

Training of staff in vehicle electronics and electrics, as well as troubleshooting.

We need a room for the training. First suggestion from the boss: “In my office”.
I didn’t think that was a good idea and told him we would only disturb him in his work.
There is another large meeting room, which is actually only used by the management team. Then we take that one.
The room very big, air-conditioned, and there’s also a beamer; really comfortable. But we can only use it in the afternoon because it is needed for the management meeting in the morning.
The electricians have another meeting room that we can use in the morning. It’s not quite as big, but it has a whiteboard for writing on, so it’s actually even more suitable.
But back to the management room.
The building is located directly at the place where the logs are delivered and measured. Then, in the afternoon, the logs are processed. First they are cut to the right size. That sounds like a dozen chainsaws.
You have to imagine that at least 2-3 chainsaws are running at the same time in front of the house and behind the house. As if it were in your front garden. The windows are closed, but that is absolutely irrelevant, because the windows only have single glazing and no sound insulation. It’s so loud that I almost have to shout, and when someone has a question, I go up to them so I can understand. After a few days we also moved to the electricians in the afternoon. It’s not quiet here either, but it’s better.
They’re not too particular about the time of day. If it goes well, everyone is there after 20 minutes when the work starts at 8. It’s the same during the break. It doesn’t matter if I say we’ll take a 15-minute break or if we continue at 10 a.m., it takes at least half an hour until everyone is back. I say I don’t like it every time, but it hasn’t changed anything.
On Thursday I came in, and I was happy to see that the whiteboard was really nice and clean. They were there extra early to clean it. Really good.
But there was also a strange smell in the room when I went closer to the front. After a short while I realised that I couldn’t, it smelled so bad that I couldn’t think of anything but the smell. Benjamin then said he had cleaned it with paraffin, that’s what he always does. That was meant very nicely, but it stinks like hell when you stand directly in front of it. Okay, then we’ll open the windows. We can’t, because they’re not windows but fixed glass elements that can’t be opened. The room has two doors, so you can open the doors and have a good airing. But it doesn’t work either, because the one door to the outside can’t be opened. I said, that’s a door and there’s a handle on it, why can’t you open it? Yes, because it’s locked and the key has been lost. So I gave up and just sat further away from the wall.
