There was still a few things to do.
I spent the whole Sunday morning
– filling out and upload the PFL form for Belgium (public-health-passenger-locator-form).
– uploadding the proof of full Covid-19 vaccination to the homepage for entry.
– I tried the yellow fever vaccination, but it didn’t work. Never mind, the vaccination certificate must be sufficient proof.
– register for entry into Ghana
– order the PCR test which have to be done at arrival, pay in advance and upload the proof of payment.
– then immediately fill out a “Health Declaration Form” for Ghana and remember the ID for later update the form.
If somebody will travel to Ghana in the next month, I know how to do it.
I am allowed to have 2 suitcases on the flight, which makes packing reasonably comfortable.
My family doctor was kind enough to put together my first-aid kit. Besides the malaria medicine, it contains pretty much medicine everything you could possibly need. I didn’t realize, there are so many ways to get sick at Africa. The pharmacy then ordered and prepared everything for me.
When I sorted everything out on the table, it looked more like I had robbed a pharmacy than a few tablets for my holiday.

I’ll take everything to Ghana and leave the rest down there, hopefully they could use it better than I can.
During packing the suitcases, I also asked myself at each item, “Do I really need this in Ghana?” The usual stuff you take when you travel in warm countries.
What about the running stuff? Definitely running shoes, running pants and running shirt. But where would be a good possibility for running? At the End, it’s only a small town. On the pictures about the company I saw a football team, they have to train somewhere, so there should be some nice places for training.
Here in Garching I like to run along the Isar-River or into the forest, but I wonder if that would be such a good idea to do the same in the Africa. It’s not a suburban idyll, it’s a rainforest, so it’s nature, with animals and with dangerous predators. The big cats won’t see me as the nice expert from Germany, but they would looking around and searching for next meal. I don’t like this idea at all, and I can’t run that fast to be able to run away from them. So the running shoes are definitely in the suitcase, and if necessary I’ll just run a few laps around the football pitch.
